Book your Cervical Screening

We are in the process of telephoning all our patients that are due for their Cervical Screening (Smear) and wanted to make you aware of the importance of attending.

We now have appointments available on a Tuesday evening if you struggle to get to surgery due to work, childcare etc.

Please look at the following links, which tell you everything you need to know about attending for your smear test. www.nhs.uk/conditions/cervical-screening/ www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/cervical-cancer/getting-diagnosed/screening/about

A smear test takes roughly 5 minutes to complete by a trained Practice Nurse. You can bring someone with you if this makes you feel more comfortable.

If you have any questions you can book a telephone call with our Nurse to discuss this or you can call the Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust helpline on 0808 802 8000 or message them using this link www.jostrust.org.uk/get-support/ask-expert They have experienced staff to answer your questions.

You can, of course, still decline your smear test. If you would like to decline and stop receiving invites you will need to sign a form to be taken off the recall list. If you do this you can ask to be added back on at any time in the future. Please contact surgery if you would like a decline form or fill in this form on our website www.friendlyfamilysurgery.co.uk/navigator/decline-an-annual-health-review-assessment-or-vaccination/
